Stop that Cold Before it Starts

Catching a cold really has nothing to do with cold weather. We spend more time indoors during the winter months and viruses are passed hand to hand and through the air. When you have someone at work or school with a cold they will often, unknowingly, pass it along through a handshake, sneeze or cough.

To stay healthy and feeling good, here are some tips from health experts to help you prevent, and quickly treat, any viral or other infection:
  1. Wash your hands often throughout the day and dry them well.
  2. Stay away from snifflers and coughers. If you are ill, stay home to rest and recuperate.
  3. Look after yourself at the first sign of illness with good food, supplements and rest.
  4. Boost your immune system daily with extra vitamin C, echinacea and other immune supporting products.
  5. Get plenty of rest and sleep.
  6. Drink lots of liquids – particularly nice warm ones, like hot lemonade, chicken soup, herbal teas that support immunity and other soothing beverages.
When a bug gets you down stay home, rest and recuperate. Going to work sick can mean that others are exposed, and this can do more harm than missing a few days. Often, if you look after yourself at the first sign of an illness, the duration can be shortened and you’ll be back to doing what you need to in no time.
