The DAWN CHUBAI TRANSFORMATION PROJECT
A new national initiative is underway with Breakfast Television (BT) Vancouver and CityLine TV in collaboration with PGX. ;
After The Vice-Busting Diet author and master motivator Julia Havey appeared on BT Vancouver last October, BT co-host and CityLine correspondent Dawn Chubai expressed interest in PGX, as she wants to lose weight. From this the DAWN CHUBAI TRANSFORMATION PROJECT was born. For 26 weeks Dawn will follow a customized PGX program developed by the Canadian Centre for Functional Medicine (CCFM). Weekly segments on BT Vancouver and CityLine will cover Dawn’s progress, featuring various aspects of the PGX program and guest appearances by health experts like Julia Havey, Dr. Michael Lyon, Veronica Kacinik, RD, Kate Rhéaume-Bleue, ND. Each week a new task or goal will be introduced.
BT Vancouver segments air Monday mornings starting January 17th. CityLine segments air Wednesday mornings beginning January 19th. Dawn will be chronicling her journey on BT Vancouver’s Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as on her blog at BT Vancouver and her personal Twitter page.
Research indicates that people who gain weight often spend much of their day on a “blood sugar roller coaster”, with blood sugar alternately surging and plummeting, leaving them tired or irritable and leading them to unhealthy food cravings. Eating the wrong foods (especially high-glycemic-index foods) magnifies the problem, but the underlying cause is insulin resistance, a condition where insulin is released after meals, but the body fails to respond appropriately.
PGX (PolyGlycopleX®) is a proprietary complex of naturally-occurring, water-soluble polysaccharides (fibres) and is the result of intensive clinical and laboratory research. Taking PGX with food can slow gastric emptying and reduce a meal’s glycemic index by up to 50%, contributing to healthy blood sugar levels and improving insulin sensitivity. PGX also helps control appetite by providing a feeling of fullness, and is completely safe and stimulant free.
BT Vancouver: Monday mornings starting January 17th.
CityLine: Wednesday mornings beginning January 19th.
