The active ingredients in milk thistle are flavonoids comprised of silybin, silydianin and silychristin, collectively known as silymarin. Dandelion benefits liver functions and has been used for centuries to treat liver disorders, especially jaundice.

Turmeric exhibits strong antioxidant activity, has a liver-protective effect and increases bile solubility.

Ingredients

Each capsule contains:
Milk thistle extract (Silybum marianum) ............................250 mg
(Standardized for flavonoid content of 80% silymarin)
Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale) ...............................55 mg
Turmeric root (Curcuma longa) .......................................27.5 mg

Recommended Adult Dose

1-2 capsules with meals 3 times daily or as directed by a health care practitioner. Maximum daily dose 6 capsules. Keep out of the reach of children.

Contraindications

• Milk thistle extract may reduce the toxicity of the liver caused by many drugs including thyroid hormone, acetaminophen, butyrophenones, phenothiazines, phenytoin, and alcohol.

Additional Information

Children: Suitable for children at one-half the adult dosage.

Pregnancy and Nursing: As the effects of milk thistle preparations during pregnancy and lactation have not been sufficiently evaluated, it should not be used during these times unless directed by a health care practitioner.

Seniors: No special precautions are known.
