Iron is critical to human life. It plays the central role in the hemoglobin molecule of red blood cells (RBC) where it functions in transporting oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and the transportation of carbon dioxide from the tissues to the lungs. Iron also functions in several key enzymes in energy production and metabolism including DNA synthesis.

This unique iron formula that includes vitamins B12, folic acid, manganese and vitamin C to deliver optimum nutrition for the production of healthy red blood cells, helping prevent a whole range of anemias in both men and women, including anemia acquired during pregnancy and during peri-menopause.

This mineral can be used as a supplemental source of iron if recommended by a health care practitioner. As men age they need less iron. Some women supplement with iron to counteract heavy menstrual blood loss.

Each tablet contains:

Recommended Adult Dose

1 tablet daily with food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or as directed by a health care practitioner.

Contraindications

• Anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen may contribute to iron loss via gastrointestinal bleeding.
• There is enough iron in this bottle to seriously harm a child.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Additional Information

Children: Iron supplementation is suitable for children at the RDA level.
