Contraindications

• If taking antibiotics, take probiotics two hours before or two hours after taking antibiotics. Continue to use probiotics long after finishing the antibiotics to restore gastrointestinal flora.
• Using probiotics regularly can prevent many infections before they begin thus reducing the need for antibiotics.
• Studies in humans indicate that lactobacillus preparations do not appear to interfere with the effectiveness of antibiotics, but may prevent antibiotic-induced diarrhea.
• Exceedingly safe. However, be aware that there may be a period of digestive adjustment while the body adjusts to any new probiotic strain.
• As well, the superior 'attacking' power of L. rhamnosus against negative bacteria and yeast may temporarily release more toxins, resulting in flu-like symptoms.
• If this happens, just cut back on the dosage until the toxins are removed from the body. Gradually return to your usual dosage.
