Contraindications

• Vitamin E may potentiate the effects of the blood thinning drug Coumadin^® (warfarin) as well as enhance the antiplatelet effects of drugs like aspirin and Ticlid^® (ticlopidine).
• The drugs cholestyramine (Questran^®), colestipol (Colestid^®), phenytoin (Dilantin^®), phenobarbital, orlistat (Xenical^®), and mineral oil all interfere with the absorption and/or metabolism of vitamin E. Consult a your health care practitioner to see if extra vitamin E supplementation may be required.
