Feature Summary

Calcium is required for strong bones, teeth and cardiac function. Calcium not only builds strong bones and teeth but maintains bone density and strength. It helps to regulate heartbeat, blood clotting and muscle contraction. As well as protecting the body from stress, magnesium works with calcium to provide help to these same body systems and participates in more than 50 different biochemical reactions. That's why magnesium is so important to bone formation, nerve and muscle transmission, and energy production.

The other minerals, including manganese, potassium and zinc, are also in the citrate form for better absorption and utilization by the cells, and they provide a valuable contribution to bone strength. The chelated form is better tolerated by those with allergies to citric products for the calcium and magnesium.

Does not contain any artificial preservatives, colour, sweeteners, dairy, gluten, starch or yeast.

Contraindications

• Aluminum-containing antacids are known to ultimately lead to an increase in bone breakdown and calcium excretion.
• The bone building drug etidronate (Didronel^®) and tetracycline antibiotics should not be taken within 2 hours of calcium supplements as the calcium may decrease their effectiveness.
• Calcium supplementation may also reduce the effectiveness of the following drugs: digoxin, gallium nitrate (Ganite^®), phenytoin (Dilantin^®).
• If you are taking any of these drugs, consult your health care practitioner before taking a calcium supplement.

Each tablet contains:
Elemental calcium
(carbonate/citrate/HVP* chelate)...................................350 mg
Elemental magnesium (HVP* chelate/oxide)...................175 mg
Elemental potassium (citrate)............................................10 mg
Elemental zinc (citrate).......................................................5 mg
*HVP: hydrolyzed vegetable protein (sourced from rice)

Recommended Adult Dose

1-2 tablets daily with meals, a few hours before or after taking other medications or as directed by a health care practitioner. For adult use only. Keep out of the reach of children.
