This essential fatty acid blend provides ideal ratios of EPA, DHA and GLA that are critical for normal brain development and visual function in children and adults. The EPA and DHA are derived from pharmaceutical-grade fish oil concentrates, free from lipid peroxides and environmental pollutants including heaving metals, pesticides, dioxins, PCBs and other harmful compounds. The GLA comes from borage oil which is extracted by cold pressing (expeller pressing), a process that does not utilize hexane or other harmful solvents. This oil tastes delightfully "peachy" due to the natural flavours (peach, vanilla, orange) and is tasty to young taste buds.

Learning Factors Advanced School-Aid blend of essential fatty acids and antioxidants is for optimal brain and visual performance in children. These fatty acids are called essential because they must be provided in the diet since the body cannot consistently make them. Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) is a derivative of essential omega-3 fatty acids. Less well-known but also important are the omega-6 fatty acid derivatives, gamma linolenic acid (GLA). When they are added to the diet of some hyperactive children they seem to calm down and are able to concentrate and interact normally in their surroundings.

Contraindications

• As this product is designed specifically for children there are no drug interactions known at this time.
• There may be some interactions for adults on blood thinning medication who choose to take products that contain fish oil.
• Parents of children with seizure disorders may want to check with their nutritionally-oriented health care practitioner before taking any supplement that affects brain function.
• Elevations in blood sugar and cholesterol levels have occurred in some diabetics taking fish oil supplements. Parents of diabetic children should be aware of this effect and monitor the sugars frequently when introducing fish oils.

Recommended Adult Dose

Children under 18: 1 tsp. (5 mL), 2 times daily or as directed by a health care practitioner.

Adults 19 and over: 1 tsp. (5 mL), 2-3 times daily or as directed by a health care practitioner. Shake well before use. Refrigerate after opening. Keep out of the rech of children.
