Echinamide Anti-Cold Cold & Cough Syrup

Learn more about Immune Support

Feature Summary

This syrup contains a broad range of healing herbs and plant oils that work well together. The addition of mullein and horehound makes it also a superior expectorant, breaking up phlegm. More than just suppressing the urge to cough, this unique syrup contains Echinacea purpurea actives, including polysaccharides, cichoric acid and alkylamides, to harness the body's own healing power. The high fraction of echinacea polysaccharides linger in the throat, prolonging the antibacterial and antiviral effect.

The Cold & Cough Syrup is in a base of Natural Factors echinacea honey gathered from hives in Factor Farms echinacea fields. This makes the syrup taste delicious and more effective medicinally, as honey is both an antiseptic and antibacterial.

Anti-Cold describes a super-extracted Echinacea purpurea liquid that guarantees high levels of alkylamides, polysaccharides and cichoric acid, (together or individually). A proprietary double extraction process obtains the water-extracted polysaccharides and cichoric acid, as well as the alcohol-extracted alkylamides. These are the three key actives that are responsible for echinacea's effectiveness in clinical studies and that contribute to make echinacea one of the world's most popular herbs for immune support.

Contraindications

  • Allergic reactions have been reported in people who are allergic to other members of plants in the Compositae family (daisy, ragweed, marigolds, etc.)
  • Echinacea should not be used by people with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) or human-immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Echinacea use may lead to stimulation of viral replication. Until more research is done, most experts recommend not using echinacea effects in HIV infection.
  • Since echinacea can enhance immune function, it must not be used in people who have had organ transplants or who are taking drugs to suppress the immune system such as cyclophosphamide.
  • People with autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis should avoid long-term use of echinacea.
  • If cough persists for more than 7 days, see your health care practitioner.
  • If symptoms are severe and persist for more than 2 days, or cough worsens and persists for more than one week or if accompanied by a high fever, consult a health care practitioner.
